WEDNESDAY, July 8th: Habesha Menu by Chefs Kidane & Besrat

Chef Kidane and his wife Chef Besrat are excited to roll out a carpet of delicious (gluten free) injera bread and Eritrean dishes like Kulwa (beef), Doro Wot (chicken) and Atakilt Wot (vegan). Try their scratch-baked himbasha bread as well, a family favorite! Please schedule these meals *only* for Wednesday July 8th, for lunch (11-2) or dinner (4-8)! We assume pre-orders are takeout, but feel free to write "dine in!" on the pickup notes if you'd like us to plate your food and save you a table. Walk-ins also welcomed! Note: due to rising costs and lower amounts of grant funding available for supporting refugees and immigrants, we've made the decision to include a 10% nonprofit operations fee with each food purchase. Chef Nader is originally from Syria and relocated to Jordan, where he spent a decade honing his culinary skills, particularly in baking and desserts. In August 2023, he moved to the United States with his wife and five children. He began his culinary journey as a chef at Gonzaga and is currently working at Alpine Bakery. Chef Nader is excited to cook at Feast, serving delicious dishes like Chicken Shawarma, Harraq Osbao, Baklava and more! Chef Jackie is the Executive Director of Filipino American Northwest Association (FANA). A community-based nonprofit dedicated to celebrating culture, strengthening community connections, and serving those in need. Through its program Nourish Spokane Soup Kitchen & Food Pantry, FANA provides free meals and essential food support to neighbors experiencing food insecurity in the Spokane region. Chef Jackie is excited to bring authentic Filipino cuisine to Spokane. Through her cooking, Jackie hopes to create memorable dining experiences, bring people together, and help people discover the bold flavors of Filipino cuisine. SATURDAY, July 11th: Syrian Menu by Chef Abdelrahman

Syrian people often hold the value of family in the highest of regard. The culture is focused on taking care of each other, and giving their loved ones what they need. Chef Abdelrahman is an embodiment of that notion. Chef Abdelrahman left Syria 10 years ago and moved to Lebanon with his family—his mom, dad, and six siblings. Currently, four of his siblings have made it to the USA, with two more waiting to join. He has worked in a bakery for the last 10 years but the war forced him and his siblings to work to support their parents. Chef Abdulrahman has a dream he wants to achieve, and he believes that Feast World Kitchen can help him reach it.
